Imperial War Museum Workshop
Students will take part in a Documentary Challenge which takes them into the museum galleries to explore objects related to war and conflict. Students will then tell the stories they find in their own words.

St Paul's Cathedral
Take a history workshop at the Cathedral, looking at historical artifacts and exploring the role of the Cathedral during World War 2.

Take a tour and/or workshop at the Florence Nightingale Museum. Learn about the story of the founder of modern nursing and the impact she had on society since.
The National Archives Workshop
In this workshop students will explore the period from WW2 to the Cold War and develop their analytical skills using original Cabinet minutes.
Blitz Walking Tour
Take a walking tour through London and identify war monuments, buildings and other structures that protected Londoners or were damaged during the Second World War. Learn what it was like to live through this time and the events that took place.
Churchill War Rooms
Visit the underground nerve centre where Winston Churchill and his time team made critical decisions about the handing of the war.
Tower of London
Explore this historic castle and/ or take part in an workshop focused on either The Normans or Elizabeth 1.
RAF Museum
Discover the stories of the men and women who took to the skies of the First World War, and how new technology was used just 11 years after the first flight.
HMS Belfast
Visit the HMS Belfast and explore the museum, on board, that focuses on the history of the ship and its involvement of the Second World War, Korean War and Cold War.
The Old Operating Theatre Museum
Visit Europe’s oldest surviving operating theatre and experience a recreated operation before the arrival of modern medicines.
An Example itinerary
Day 1
- Arrive at the RAF Museum for a hands-on workshop.
- Enjoy a welcome dinner and discussion with your guide.
Day 2
- Take part in a documentary challenge at The Imperial War Museum.
- Meet with local experts for a Blitz walking Tour.
Day 3
- Visit the Churchill War Rooms and discover the stories hidden beneath the streets of Westminster.
- Afterwards stroll past Number 10 Downing Street and take a walk along the Southbank to take in the historic sites of London.
