COVID 19- FAQs

Ready to book a school trip again but worried about the impact of COVID? We understand and our financial policies offer considerable flexibility whilst our insurance policy means that you are protected in the event of unforeseen events. Please see below for details as to how we can give you the reassurance that booking a school trip will be a sensible option for you as well as providing your students with some awesome opportunities.

Is the Learning Adventure financially protected – will we actually get refunds?

Yes, absolutely. We have financial failure protection through our Topp Policy and our flight packages are protected via our ATOL licence. Plus we are ABTA members. If you move your booking then your booking will still be protected.

Can we get special COVID insurance cover?

Yes- we have COVID insurance through AVIVA when you book the trip- this gives you excellent coverage and covers some of the key potential scenarios as outlined below.

What happens if a student gets COVID before the trip?

We offer insurance that protects against this. This policy means that you are fully covered in this event and all non-refundable costs would be refunded so it’s risk-free! The following scenarios are covered:

  • If you are diagnosed with COVID-19 within 14 days prior to departure.
  • If you are hospitalised due to COVID-19 which results in you being unable to travel.
  • If you have been asked to self-isolate by and this prevents you from taking part in the trip.

What happens if a student gets COVID on the trip?

Firstly, it’s worth stating that this is unlikely as we will be taking measures to ensure the group are protected and anyone who is interacting consistently with the group will be subject to daily testing. However, if this were to happen then we would follow the local guidelines in their location and act accordingly. We would be sure to help arrange for a parent or guardian to join the student or, if appropriate, to repatriate the student. The insurance policy would also cover any additional expenses incurred to return home, the costs for a parent or guardian to travel to the student and for non-refundable costs for experiences that were missed due to having COVID.
