Day 1: Benvenuto to Rome!
Your Italy Classics school trip starts today! Step off the plane at Ciampino/Fiumicino airport and hop on the Terravision bus to your accommodation in Termini. Check into the hotel, unpack and prepare for the exciting world of classical civilisation.
Head straight out into the eternal city and enjoy a walking tour of some of the most famous sites the city has to offer. See the Spanish Steps, Borghese Gardens, marvel at the Pantheon and throw your coin into the Trevi Fountain.
Amble through Rome’s streets to the Piazza Navona, once a chariot racing track! Enjoy a well-earned meal and gelato!
Day 2: Roman city life
Head into the centre of the ancient city, the Roman Forum! Wander through the ancient buildings that made up the political centre of Rome and then head up to the Palatine Hill, and marvel at the scale of these imperial palaces.
From palaces to prisoners, its time for the Colosseum! Walk in the footsteps of Roman spectators and explore this amazing monument to Roman public life. It’s even possible to walk out onto the arena floor and stand in the place of prisoners and gladiators alike!
Spend the evening walking along the River Tiber, exploring neighbourhoods like Trastevere. Enjoy dinner in a local restaurant.
