Day 1: Welcome to Thailand!
Touchdown in Chiang Mai, ready for your cultural adventure tour in Thailand to begin! You’ll be greeted at the airport by our amazing Adventure Leaders, who’ll help you get transferred to your accommodation. Once you and the students have settled in, you’ll meet back up with your Leaders for a trip briefing. On this, you’ll learn all about the next few days, as well as important information on adapting to local cultures and staying safe.
This afternoon, you’ll pay a visit to the Lanna Folklife Museum Center. Located in Old City Chiang Mai, this heritage museum is full of exhibitions of the lives and legacies of the Lanna people of Northern Thailand. The museum sits inside the old municipal court of Chiang Mai, and is located opposite the renowned Three Kings Monument.
After this, you’ll head back to the hotel for some well-deserved rest.
Day 2: Into the Hills
You’ve got an exciting day of exploring ahead! Following breakfast, students will visit Doi Pui. Located 1,685m above sea level, it’s the highest peak in the Doi Suthep-Pui National Park. The Park is famous for its beautiful waterfalls, which we can conveniently reach from the main road.
While we’re at Doi Pui, we’ll pay a visit to the Hmong Tribal Village, which is situated less than 5km away from the world-famous Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.
After lunch, we’ll be learning even more about the local peoples of Thailand with a visit to the Karen Hill-Tribe. Here, students will learn all about the local life, from the traditional arts and crafts to the local medicines. They’ll learn about all the food that’s grown in the immediate area and prepared to eat – the true meaning of farm to table!
Once we’re back in the city, we’ll explore Chiang Mai of an evening. The Night Bazaar is one of the main shopping venues in Northern Thailand, and is unmissable! There, you’ll find street stalls selling clothes and handicrafts, along with a whole host of plazas selling unique crafts.
