Educational Trips in Berlin

Regardless of subject, there are plenty of must-dos to include on a Berlin itinerary:

• The Brandenburg Gate – the city’s only surviving historical gate that, post-unification, has come to stand as a symbol of a united Berlin.
• The Jewish Museum – here, the permanent exhibition focuses on Jewish life in the past and present, providing valuable insight into Jewish culture and traditions.
• Deutsches Technisches Museum – students can take part in a fun scavenger hunt around the museum, which documents the cultural history of aeronautics, navigation, railways, telecommunications, and computer history.
• The German Spy Museum – trace the history of espionage with interactive exhibits, gadgets & props from Bond movies.

Berlin’s status as an international culture hub means that the summer months can be busy with tourists. We recommend avoiding June to September, and instead focusing your trip on the slightly lower seasons – while the weather might be slightly colder, groups can see all the city’s landmarks in a slightly more leisurely manner. December can also be a very busy time as people flock to the city’s many Christmas Markets.

Absolutely! While history students might wish to combine with a trip to Kraków, Poland for an extended and reflective educational tour, a shorter Berlin school trip might also include excursions to local cities like Potsdam.
