Day 1: Welcome to Malaysia

Welcome to your school residential camp in Malaysia! Upon arrival, our enthusiastic Adventure Leaders will be waiting for your school. Once you’ve met them, jump on private coaches and head to Taman Negara National Park, on the Malay Peninsular.

Around lunchtime, you’ll check into your camp at Kuala Tahan, before heading out on a nature walk through the national park. On your journey, you’ll trek through a sprawling tropical rainforest, that’s said to be 130 million years old. It’s home to tigers, macaques and all manner of birdlife – as well as the enormous flowers of the rafflesia plant!

This evening, you’ll enjoy a BBQ dinner to celebrate your first night in your camp! Then, under cover of darkness, you’ll play a jungle reconnaissance game. Use stealthy skills to retrieve a code from behind enemy lines…

Day 2: Village Visits & Survival Strategies

You’ve got a busy day today! After breakfast, you’ll hop on a boat to visit Orang Asli village. Here, you’ll learn about the local culture, as well as how to survive jungle life. Then, you’ll head to see the gigantic Tualang Tree, which is one of the world’s tallest tropical tree species. The tallest ever measured in at 88m tall!

Then it’s back on the boat, as you’re heading to the Kelah Sanctuary to help feed the fish. Covering an area of almost 4,500 hectares, the sanctuary is a natural protective zone which aims to support the preservation and repopulation of freshwater fish in Tasik Kenyir Lake.

Following lunch, students will learn all they need to know about camping! We’ll provide you with the tents, sleeping bags, and mats, and you’ll be taught how to choose a site and pitch your gear properly. You’ll build your base for the day, ensuring you’ve got dry space to keep your things safe, and a warm spot which will keep you comfortable all night. You’ll also get the chance to make your very own water filters – but don’t worry, we’ll check everything is right!

Day 3: Rafting & Walkways

Once breakfast has gone down, students are taking to the water for an exhilarating morning! They’ll be hopping on board rafts to face an amazing white-water experience down seven rapids. You’ll be able to spot over 300 recorded species of birds as you make your way downstream.

After lunch, you’ll take a beautiful canopy walk on a suspended walkway through the jungles surrounding Mount Tahan – the perfect end to a brilliant trip. You’ll take some time for a reflection session before you depart, where you can all discuss what you’ve learned on your educational adventure trip.
