Although geographically close, Morocco offers a rich cultural diversity, making it an ideal destination for young students to explore both mountainous and desert landscapes while delving into questions of human geography and experiencing the unique traditions of North African culture. Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Marrakesh

Touch down in Marrakesh airport where our Adventure Leader will greet you, provide a full safety briefing, and some fun facts about Morocco.
After settling in to your accommodation, explore the bustling souks.
In the evening visit the traditional berber or ‘amazigh’ music museum, housed in a beautifully restored 16th century Saadian house. Hear from the owner on the restoration process and then witness a live and interactive performance of traditional music, followed by an authentic Moroccan meal on the roof terrace.

Day 2: Atlas mountains, Bahia palace and waterfall

In the morning, head towards the Atlas mountains for a visit to Ourika Valley with a local guide. En route, you’ll stop off for tasters of Moroccan tea, as well as a women’s cooperative to see how they process aghan nuts to make the famous aghan oil, one of Morocco’s most important exports.
At the valley, hike up to the waterfall to observe first hand features of the water cycle, and the earth formations and structure formed by plate tectonics.
Visit the geometrically fascinating Bahia Palace to witness stunning courtyards and learn about the building’s unique history and how it relates to Morocco’s complicated geopolitical relationship with France.
Head to Café Clock for a contemporary Moroccan meal, including a camel burger if you’re feeling brave!

Day 3: Camel riding and museum visits

Spend the morning riding camels – or, more accurately, Dromaderies. A mode of transport for over a thousand years. Dromaderies are bred to carry cargo so hop on a hump and venture across the sandy Agafay desert in style. Traditional dress and Moroccan tea will be provided to add to the experience.
As a final farewell to Marrakesh, lose yourself in the labyrinth that is the sprawling and intricate Jardin Majorelle and its three accompanying museums – the Islamic Art Museum, the Berber Museum, and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum.

Day 4: Farewell

Sadly, today marks the end of your school trip to Morocco. Transfer back to the airport, and prepare to head home.
