Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

  • Students will touch down in Australia, where our enthusiastic Adventure Leaders will be waiting, waving a TLA flag.
  • After arrival, they will be provided with a Trip Briefing. The Adventure Leaders will explain details about their travel plans, give advice on how to adapt to the local culture and outline how they will stay safe during their travels.
  • Students will begin their adventure with an orientation walk around Circular Quay, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of Sydney’s waterfront and getting a first glimpse of the city’s iconic sights.
  • Afterwards, they will gather for a welcome meeting with a stunning view of the Sydney Opera House, setting the stage for the exciting experiences ahead while introducing you to Sydney’s rich cultural heritage.

Day 2: Centennial Parklands, museum visits & aboriginal performance

  • For their first full day in Australia, students will explore the expansive Centennial Parklands, where you’ll wander through beautiful gardens, spot native wildlife, and enjoy the natural beauty right in the heart of Sydney.
  • After exploring the gardens, they will discover Australia’s rich natural history at the Australian Museum, examining exhibits that highlight the country’s unique wildlife, cultural heritage, and fascinating geological past.
  • They will then go on to admire the diverse collections at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, engaging with both classical and contemporary works that showcase Australia’s artistic heritage.
  • To end the students second day, they will get to experience a vibrant cultural performance, immersing themselves in the stories, music, and dance that bring to life Australia’s rich Indigenous traditions.

Day 3: Aquarium, UTS & Darling Harbour

  • Students will dive into the wonders of marine life at the Sea Life Aquarium, walking through underwater tunnels and observing a wide array of aquatic creatures up close.
  • They’ll then get the opportunity to visit the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), touring its state-of-the-art campus and learning about the innovative programs that shape Australia’s future leaders.
  • In the evening, students can stroll through the bustling Darling Harbour, taking in the lively waterfront atmosphere and where they can enjoy public art, cafes, and entertainment options.

Day 4: Sydney Tower Eye, The Rocks & museum visit

  • Today students will ascend to the Sydney Tower Eye, where panoramic views of the city and its surroundings offer a breathtaking perspective on the landmarks they’ve explored.
  • After lunch, they will embark on a tour of The Rocks, delving into the area’s rich history as Sydney’s oldest neighborhood, with cobblestone streets and tales of the city’s colonial past.
  • They’ll then get to participate in a hands-on workshop at the Museum of Contemporary Art, exploring modern art techniques and engaging in creative expression under the guidance of expert educators.

Day 5: University visit, Manly & workshop

  • The first activity of the day will be a tour of the University of New South Wales (UNSW) campus, learning about its research initiatives, academic programs, and student life in one of Australia’s leading universities.
  • It’s time for a boat ride! Students will cross the harbor to explore Manly, a coastal suburb known for its stunning beaches, scenic walks, and laid-back vibe, offering a perfect mix of nature and relaxation.
  • In the afternoon, students will dive into a Marine Science workshop, where they’ll investigate marine ecosystems, learn about conservation efforts, and get hands-on experience with local marine life.

Day 6: Marine Science workshop, shopping & sightseeing

  • To start their morning, students will dive into a Marine Science workshop, where they’ll investigate marine ecosystems, learn about conservation efforts, and get hands-on experience with local marine life.
  • In the afternoon, students can enjoy some free time for shopping and sightseeing, exploring local markets, picking up souvenirs, and soaking up the atmosphere of Sydney’s vibrant streets.

Day 7: Scientist for a day & Farewell

  • For the last day of their school trip, they will join ‘Scientist For a Day’ program. There are a variety of themes, such as ornithology, palaeontology, mammalogy, and arachnology, designed to show kids what it’s like to work in different areas of science.
  • The program includes hands on activities and experiments that provide practical demonstrations, as well as rare behind the scenes opportunities that allow students to engage with practicing scientists within the Museum, as well as the external science community.
  • It’s now time for students to head back for their return travel home.
