Our 10-day MBA Japan trip aims to equip students with valuable experiences across a variety of Japanese workplaces.  This faculty-led tour of Japan will enhance the learning experience while testing students on their adaptability, creativity and professionalism. Here, we bring you more information on what you can expect from the trip, including some of the highlights of the itinerary and how they enrich your study abroad program.

Visit a Japanese University

On Day 2 of the trip, students will visit the business department of a local university. They’ll have the opportunity to take a tour of the campus, before breaking off into discussion groups with students from the university.  This visit invites students and their Japanese counterparts to view their studies from a fresh perspective and to hone their ideas by sharing them.

Take part in a Q&A at the Tokyo office of the World Bank

After the university visit, students will head over to the Tokyo branch of The World Bank. Here, they’ll listen to a talk given by a manager from the office’s Social Innovation team, which will be followed by a Q&A session. This experience will introduce students to the working environment of a major international financial institution while giving them the chance to pick the brains of an expert.

Pay a visit to multinational manufacture’s factory

On Day 5 of the trip, students will travel across the country via bullet train to Hiroshima, for a visit to the Mazda car factory. Students will be able to see the technical department and assembly line in action, before learning about the company’s history at the factory’s museum.

Spend a day at a business incubator

On Day 7 of the trip, students will visit a business incubator which provides office working spaces, strategic advice and funding for various start-up companies. Students will be split into groups and have a chance to develop their own start-up idea and prepare a pitch for funding.
