Day 1: Arrival

  • Students will touch down in Deqing, ready to start their adventure and culture trip. They’ll meet their Adventure Leader at the airport, and they’ll help them transfer to their accommodation.
  • After arriving, students will have a trip briefing with the Adventure Leader. Alongside running through the next ten days of the itinerary, they’ll also introduce students to the local culture and provide some tips for adjusting to local life, while also explaining the best ways to stay safe while they travel.
  • Students will get the chance to leave the distractions of modern life behind them, as they hike into the beautiful, natural surroundings.  During the hike, students can expect to learn some facts about the surrounding environment and potentially witness the local wildlife, while learning about the significance of environmental conservation.
  • In the evening, they can test their knowledge in our TLA Trivia Night.

Day 2: Tea plantation, kayaking, high-ropes & bamboo crafts

  • Today, students will take a visit to a tea plantation and join a tea making workshop. This offers the opportunity to learn about the region’s tea culture and production methods. Students can explore the plantations, help the local community to pick tea leaves in busy times, and participate in tea-tasting sessions to sample different varieties of teas.
  • After sampling tea, students can get ready to paddle away on a kayaking adventure. Students will learn the key safety components of the sport and how to control their kayak effectively. Kayaking allows students to get up close and personal with nature in a way that few other activities can match.
  • In the afternoon, students will test their bravery and abilities on a high ropes challenge course! They will need to control their balance (and their nerves) to navigate an obstacle course whilst being suspended high in the air.
  • Afterwards, students will create handmade bamboo arts and crafts with a local craftsman. It’s an opportunity for students to connect with the heritage of the region, unleash their creativity, and create lasting memories through a beautiful and timeless art form.
  • After an action-packed day, relax and play board games with snacks and good company.

Day 3: Rock climbing, archery & farewell

  • For their last morning, students will discover the thrill of rock climbing in a captivating destination with towering cliffs and diverse routes for climbers of all levels.
  • They will then take aim for a session of archery tag, an engaging activity that combines the thrill of archery with the strategy of a team-based game. Once everyone is geared up with protective masks and equipped with foam-tipped arrows and bows, the fun begins!
  • Sadly, that marks the end of your Learning Adventure to Deqing. We’ll transfer back to the airport, ready for you to head home.
