Day 1: Let the Learning Adventure Begin!

Afternoon

Arrive in the world’s largest city and transfer to your accommodation. After a short trip briefing, transport back in time with a visit to one of Beijing’s ancient hutong areas, where you can get a glimpse into local life. Hutongs are the traditional courtyard-based residential streets of Beijing. Next up, roll up your sleeves in a Peking opera mask painting workshop.

Evening

Finish up your first day with an evening opera show and welcome dinner.

Day 2: Kung Fu & Palaces

Morning

Test your skills at a kung fu lesson in the local park. Then, switch gears in a Chinese cooking class.

Afternoon

After enjoying your delicious creations for lunch, spend a relaxing afternoon at the Summer Palace. Walk through the spectacular grounds and take a wooden boat across the palatial lake.

Evening

It’s traditional Chinese hotpot for dinner. Fuel up – you’ve got a busy day tomorrow.

Day 3: Via Ferrata

Morning

Hop on a bus to Huairou on the outskirts of the city. Take part in a raft building activity and test your raft out on the water!

Afternoon

Then, move on to the thrilling via ferrata site, where you’ll be rock climbing. Get strapped in and test your nerves. Once you’ve challenged yourself, head on to your accommodation near the Great Wall.

Day 4: Sunrise on the Wall

Morning

Start the day early watching the unmissable sunrise on the Great Wall. Sketch the view and hike along the wall before heading back into the city.

Afternoon

Test your haggling skills at Beijing’s famous Pearl Market. Pick up some last-minute souvenirs here!

Evening

There’s no better way to say goodbye to Beijing than with delicious Peking roast duck dinner – Peking is the romanized name for Beijing.

Day 5: School Visit

Morning/Afternoon

It’s your last day in China, so seize the moment! Make lifelong friends in a half-day exchange at a local Chinese school. Give and receive gifts, take a tour and enjoy various activities alongside the Chinese students. Then, it’s time to say goodbye to your new buddies, swap details and make your way to the airport. It might be home time, but it’s not over – your service trip to China will follow you back to the classroom…and beyond!
