This 6-day history-focused trip to Rome and Naples will have students exploring Italy’s most famous historical sites, ancient cities, Roman artefacts, and ruins of Roman Baths. It will educate and give students the opportunity to delve in and experience cities riddled with history.
This trip has been crafted to give students an exciting look at Rome and Naples abundantly rich history. They’ll examine the fascist architecture of Rome, walk the ancient streets Pompeii, marvel at Mount Vesuvius, and make pasta the true Italian way. Students will also have the chance to see some of Italy’s most famous landmarks, take in stunning panoramic views from castles, and consume classic Italian cuisine at a traditional Naples pizzeria.

Day 1: Take to Rome
Day 2: Visit The Baths of Trajan and The Colosseum
Start your second day in Rome with a visit to the historical Baths of Trajan and see the ruins of ancient Roman Baths. Enjoy a scenic lunch by the Colosseum where you’ll then go on to the Basilica di San Pietro in Vincoli and step in to see a Michaelangelo statue. Spend the afternoon on a guided visit of the Colosseum and Roman Forum where you’ll also take part in a Learning Adventure photo competition challenge. End the day enjoying Italy’s delicious cuisine before you take a stroll down Via del Circo Massimo for beautiful views of the Palatine Hill and stop off at The garden of Oranges for superb views of the Vatican.
Day 3: Examine Rome’s Fascist Architecture and Pasta Making Class
Visit a Roman school that has been specially matched to meet your educational interests. Be an Italian student for the day, first take a school tour, then join some lessons, play sports and participate in other activities alongside Italian students. Spend the afternoon on a tour of the city where you’ll learn about the fascist architecture and Mussolini’s regime. After a long day out and about learning, take part in a fun pasta making lesson and enjoy your tasty creations for dinner.
Day 4: See Ancient Roman Mosaics in Naples
Today, travel to Naples on the train where you’ll check in to your accommodation and go for lunch. Discover the city of Naples with a walking tour around the city. Take in great panoramas of Vesuvius from a castle and indulge on fabulous Neapolitan snacks. Afterwards, pay a visit to the National Archaeological Museum to see the original mosaics that were discovered and brought back from Pompeii and Herculaneum. Spend the evening eating a classic pizza at a traditional Naples pizzeria.
Day 5: Explore Mount Vesuvius and ancient Pompeii
Spend the day on a guided tour of the incredible Mount Vesuvius and gaze into the depths of its crater. Afterwards, walk through the ancient streets of Pompeii, filled with history and preserved by Vesuvius’s volcanic eruption. Travel back to Rome in the late afternoon and check into your accommodation. As it’s your last night, tuck into your final Italian dinner.
Day 6: Ciao Italy
In the morning transfer to the airport to take your flight home, where you’ll be able to show off all the Italian history knowledge you’ve learned from your Learning Adventure!
