Day 1: Welcome to Thailand!
Touchdown! Your conservation & service-learning in Thailand tour starts today. You’ll be greeted at Arrivals in Krabi Airport by our enthusiastic Adventure Leaders, who’ll help you transfer to your accommodation. Once you’re settled, join them for a trip briefing. Here, they’ll tell you about your travel plans, give you safety tips, and advise you on adapting to local life.
After this, you’ll have some time to get some well-deserved rest!
Day 2: Yawasam Island
This morning, you’re off to Koh Yawasam! Located in the Hat Noppharat Thara National Park’s Ao Nang district, Yawasam is a home to some impressive conservation efforts. The Park itself covers roughly 400km, and is filled with many unique coastal habitats, such as mangrove forests and coral reefs.
Once you’ve arrived at Yawasam Island, students will get a firsthand look at the marine biodiversity in Thailand, and will get the chance to speak to marine biologists there.
Later, you’ll leave Yawasam, bound for Koh Por Da. Here, students will learn more about the impact that plastics have on the oceans in Thailand and globally. They’ll then get the chance to take part in their first service experience – a beach clean-up!
This evening, return to your hotel to rest up after an exciting day.
