Day 1: Welcome to Greece

Touch down in Athens and be greeted at the airport by an Adventure Leader. They’ll assist with the transfer to your accommodation, and provide some time for check-in. After, come together for a trip briefing to learn about the week’s busy schedule, advice on adjusting to Greek life, and a tips on staying safe.

  • Then the first activity of the day begins, with a visit to the fascinating National Archaeological Museum – home to the largest collection of Greek artefacts in the world! In total, there are over 11,000 exhibits!
  • Discover the Athenian way of life with a stroll around the ‘Old Town’ neighbourhood of Plaka, known for its quaint streets, traditional feel, and restaurants.
  • This evening, enjoy a hearty welcome meal of traditional Greek food. The Greek people are known for their love of good food and welcoming hospitality – meaning there’ll be no going hungry on this tour!

Day 2: Athens

  • Dive into the magnificent architecture of Ancient Greece with a guided tour of the Acropolis. Visit the Parthenon, Erechtheion, and Propylaea, and walk the slopes to the Theatre of Dionysus – the home of Greek drama.
  • Explore the Acropolis Museum‘s incredible sculpture and artefact collections in context, which were all found on the site over centuries of excavation. Don’t miss the site that has been uncovered underneath the museum, which provides an amazing opportunity to get up-close-and-personal with the excavated site of the ancient city.
  • Building on the learning begun at the Theatre of Dionysus with a hands-on Greek theatre workshop. Led by professionals, students create and perform their very own Greek tragedy!

Day 2: Delphi

  • ‘Know Thyself’ is the quote inscribed on above the entrance to today’s site – Delphi! Travel by private coach to the Greek sanctuary for a full day’s excursion. Winding up the sacred way past temples and treasuries, head to the stadium at the very top. Alongside stunning views across the region, explore the treasures of the Delphi Museum, including the renowned Delphic Charioteer and the Sphinx of Naxos.
  • Head back to Athens for a delicious, well-earned meal at a local taverna.
