Day 1: Shanghai’s Glitz & Glamour

Be greeted at arrivals by an enthusiastic Adventure Leader, ready to start your STEM, Tech & Business School Trip in China! After arriving you will be provided with a trip briefing, where your Adventure Leaders will explain details about your travel plans, give advice on how to adapt to the local culture and outline how you will stay safe during your travels.

Embark on a mesmerizing journey through the heart of Shanghai, and enjoy a Huangpu River cruise. Sit back and take in the panoramic views of the Bund—a waterfront promenade lined with majestic buildings that reflect the city’s history of international trade and colonial past. 

Day 2: Old Shanghai

Take a guided tour of People’s Square, then visit the Shanghai Museum before walking down to The Bund to learn about China’s rapid urban development.

Step into the heart of Shanghai’s modernity and marvel at the awe-inspiring skyline on a Lujiazui tour— where you can admire the iconic financial district. Walk beneath the shadows of landmarks like the Oriental Pearl Tower, the Jin Mao Tower, and the Shanghai Tower—the second tallest building in the world.

Embark on a culinary adventure, and experience the vibrant flavours of Shanghai through the sizzling delight of hotpot. Hotpot is more than just a meal—it’s a social gathering, a celebration of togetherness. Sit around a bubbling pot of fragrant broth, lovingly prepared with a medley of herbs, spices, and secret ingredients. 

Day 3: Business Tech

Visit the CaNature factory in Pudong. This company is on a mission to bring safe drinking water to all of the world’s people through their water filtration devices, and they also provide all the drinking water at Disneyland. Watch a video presentation in the factory’s movie room, take a walk on safe walkways above the factory floor and see the mechanized production lines at work.

Visit the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall which showcases the city’s urban planning, development, and preservation. The museum has several permanent displays, including a large scale model of the city, interactive exhibits, as well displays on the history of Shanghai’s urban development.

Day 4: Business & Culture!

Tour the Baosteel Corporation, commonly known as Baosteel, one of the largest steel producers in China and a significant player in the global steel industry. Visiting Baosteel Corporation can be an insightful experience for those interested in understanding the operations and technologies involved in steel production.

Explore the Yu Yuan Garden in Shanghai, where history, architecture, and nature converge to create a truly remarkable experience.

Enjoy a world of wonder and prepare to be spellbound by the breathtaking acrobatic and theatrical prowess showcased in the sensational ERA performance. Prepare to be captivated by the sheer beauty and spectacle of the ERA acrobatic and theatrical performance!

Day 5: Health Industry & Art

Explore Yakult Milk Co., also known as Yakult Honsha, a Japanese company known for its popular probiotic beverage, Yakult. A visit to Yakult Milk Co. can provide an interesting and informative experience for those interested in learning about probiotics, the health benefits of fermented foods, and the history behind this well-known beverage.

Learn about China’s communist history at an underground Propaganda Poster Museum. Then visit Tianzifang, a bohemian culture and arts area. A visit to Former French Concession’s Art Street to see various hip cafes and restaurants, concept bars and breweries, boutiques, art galleries and antiques stores.

Day 6: Automotives & Zhujiajiao

Take some time exploring the Volkswagen auto facility in China. Visiting Volkswagen auto can offer a fascinating glimpse into one of the most prominent automobile manufacturers in the world and its operations within the Chinese market.

Embark on a picturesque journey and discover the enchanting water town of Zhujiajiao, nestled just outside the bustling city of Shanghai. One of the highlights of your journey in Zhujiajiao is undoubtedly the opportunity to indulge in a local specialty—the Shengjian dumpling. Renowned throughout China, these pan-fried dumplings are a heavenly combination of crisp bottoms, fluffy dough, succulent meat fillings, and aromatic flavours that burst in your mouth with each bite.

Day 7: AI & Old Shanghai

A visit to the AI tech exhibition site is a thrilling and thought-provoking experience, offering a glimpse of the transformative power of Artificial intelligence. Visitors can gain insight and inspiration while discovering the latest AI innovations, explore a wide range of AI-powered tools, from virtual assistants and facial recognition software to autonomous robots and vehicles. The exhibition often includes demonstrations and seminars, providing a unique opportunity to engage with experts in the field and interact with AI technology first-hand.

A walking tour of the Shanghai Old French Concession provides a chance to explore the city’s history and cosmopolitan ambiance. Located in the heart of Shanghai, this charming neighborhood was once home to a thriving French expat community, and today it retains much of its old-world charm.

Day 8: Tech Company

China is the world’s fastest growing economy. Tour the offices of a successful business, receive a lecture, then participate in a Q&A. Got business tech questions? Fire away.

Visiting the Shanghai People’s Square, which is a vibrant hub for local culture and community interactions. Visitors have the chance to participate a unique opportunity to engage with people from a diverse array of backgrounds and explore different cultural perspectives.

In the evening visit Nanjing Road, one of the most famous shopping streets in the world. It stretches from the Bund in the east to Yan’an West Road in the west. The street is lined with shops, restaurants, department stores, theatres, and high-end boutiques selling luxury goods. It’s a popular attraction for tourists as well as locals, and is a great place to experience the vibrant energy of Shanghai’s bustling city life. In the evening, you will be amazed by the stunning neon lights that illuminate the street, giving it a lively and colorful atmosphere.
