You’ve got a busy day today! After breakfast, you’ll hop on a boat to visit Orang Asli village. Here, you’ll learn about the local culture, as well as how to survive jungle life. Then, you’ll head to see the gigantic Tualang Tree, which is one of the world’s tallest tropical tree species. The tallest ever measured in at 88m tall!
Then it’s back on the boat, as you’re heading to the Kelah Sanctuary to help feed the fish. Covering an area of almost 4,500 hectares, the sanctuary is a natural protective zone which aims to support the preservation and repopulation of freshwater fish in Tasik Kenyir Lake.
Following lunch, students will learn all they need to know about camping! We’ll provide you with the tents, sleeping bags, and mats, and you’ll be taught how to choose a site and pitch your gear properly. You’ll build your base for the day, ensuring you’ve got dry space to keep your things safe, and a warm spot which will keep you comfortable all night. You’ll also get the chance to make your very own water filters – but don’t worry, we’ll check everything is right!
