Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Chiang Mai

  • Arrive at the start of your Learning Adventure where our enthusiastic Adventure Leaders will be waiting for you, waving our TLA flag. Once you’ve arrived at your hotel, you will be provided with a Trip Briefing. 
  • After you’ve settled in, you will participate in a teambuilding activity with your fellow friends and get to have an introduction of the people that you will be spending your next days in Chiang Mai with!

Day 2: Hands-on Activities & Service-Learning

  • Today, you will learn about the environment, food, dwellings and culture from a hands-on and interactive approach. You will be involved in activities such as; learning how to make your own soap, mud brick, and depending on the season you may learn the processes of planting and harvesting rice.

Day 3: Cycling trails and Kayaking

  • In the morning get familiar with your mountain bikes and set off on the cycling trails, winding through rice paddies and learning about various points of interest during your many water breaks.
  • After a cycle, it’s time to learn how to kayak in the natural environment of Chiang Mai. Enjoy a mini-expedition, paddling out for several km.

Day 4: Hiking and picnic

  • It’s time for some exploring with a hike from the remote hill tribe village of Baan Padeng, to Huay Kup Kap, before making your way downhill passing some beautiful waterfalls along the way.
  • Enjoy a well deserved rest and enjoy a picnic for lunch in the jungle.

Day 5: White water rafting and elephant feeding

  • Set off for an exciting day of white water rafting!  You will get to raft down a section of Thailand’s most exciting whitewater. This is a perfect opportunity for everyone to practice and perfect their whitewater paddling skills.
  • After lunch, learn about ethical elephant tourism practices and get to know the elephants up close. Be guided through a brief history of working elephants in Thailand before having the chance to feed these magnificent animals.

Day 6: Thai cooking class and farewell

  • Learn about local produce by visiting a local Thai food market, here you can taste a few unusual fruits and vegetables before selecting produce for today’s activity; Thai cooking.
  • From the market, transfer to the cooking school where you will get to learn how to create some of the world’s most delicious meals and enjoy them for lunch.
  • Sadly, today marks the end of your school trip to Chaing Mai. Transfer back to the airport, and prepare to head home.
