Day 1: Welcome to Beijing

Be greeted at arrivals by an enthusiastic Adventure Leader, ready to start your Culture & History School Trip in Beijing, China! After arriving you will be provided with a trip briefing, where your Adventure Leaders will explain details about your travel plans, give advice on how to adapt to the local culture and outline how you will stay safe during your travels.

Prepare to be transported back in time as you embark on a captivating journey through history, culture, and the soul of this vibrant city. Take a guided tour of the Hutongs of Beijing. Hutongs are narrow alleyways that wind their way through traditional courtyard homes, offering a glimpse into the city’s rich past.

Day 2: Temple of Heaven & Forbidden City

Head to the serene gardens of the Temple of Heaven where you will come together to practice some traditional tai chi exercises. Then head deeper into the temple complex, stopping for a group photo in front of the blue-tiled Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest.

Learn about China’s imperial history at Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. The Forbidden City stands as a symbol of China’s rich history and imperial power. As you enter through the imposing Meridian Gate, you’ll find yourself in a sprawling complex that was once the exclusive residence of emperors for over 500 years. 

Get ready to be amazed by the spectacular Red Theatre Kung Fu Show! The Red Theatre Kung Fu Show is a breathtaking display of Chinese martial arts at its finest.

Day 3: Great Wall of China

Travel to the outskirts of the city and hike to a secluded and incredibly beautiful section of the Great Wall, avoiding the crowds. The Great Wall of China stands as a testament to human ingenuity and perseverance, stretching majestically across mountains, valleys, and breathtaking landscapes.

Indulge your taste buds in a culinary delight that perfectly captures the essence of Beijing’s rich culinary heritage—the legendary Peking duck. 

Day 4: Cuisine & Opera!

Learn more about Chinese cuisine as you fire up your wok for a Chinese cooking class after grab your ingrediants from a local market. The cooking classes in Beijing are led by skilled and passionate chefs who are eager to share their knowledge and techniques.

Join a Peking Opera workshop at the backstage, learning about the traditional art form from experts, practice moves and experience what needs to be done before getting on the stage.

Be transported to a world of vibrant colorus, captivating melodies, and rich cultural heritage as you experience the mesmerising beauty of a Peking Opera show.

Day 5: Departure

Today, it’s time to head back to the airport for your flight home.
