Economics in Frankfurt
Frankfurt is a truly globalised city, located on the banks of the River Main in the German state of Hesse. Though it dates back to the Holy Roman Empire, Frankfurt today is a financial paradise, and is considered to be the economic centrepoint of continental Europe. It’s home to some key international institutions, including the European Central Bank, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, and Deutsche Bank. It’s also the site of DE-CIX, the world’s largest internet exchange point, and Buchmesse Frankfurt, the largest book fair in the world.
Our tour to Frankfurt is designed to give economics & business students a great insight into the economic heart at the centre of the city. Language & Culture in Berlin
As Germany’s capital, Berlin is not just the most populous city in the country, but in the entire European Union. It’s a place steeped in history and culture, and today it holds onto its past while turning its eye towards the future. When you visit Berlin, you’ll find endless museums, galleries and heritage sites rubbing shoulders with high-tech firms and film production sites, meaning there’s truly an experience to be loved by everyone.

Business in Munich
If you love the business bustle of Frankfurt but want the historical slant of Berlin, Munich is another amazing city that combines an international outlook with a storied past. It’s the capital state of Bavaria, and is home to some huge companies in tech, automotives, IT and engineering. The city’s position as one of the strongest economies in the country means it’s a perfect location for any business student to explore on a school trip to Germany.
While you’re there, you might want to explore the BMW Factory Museum and BMW World. Or, you can learn about the city’s contribution to global sports by paying a visit to the Olympic stadium. Then, if you feel like you’re ready to step back in time, you can head to the Old Town (the historic city centre) to see some magnificent architecture that dates back to the 1600s in places. German Language in Lake Constance
If you’re after a school trip to Germany explicitly designed for language students, you might consider heading out of the city and into the country. Located in Bavaria in eastern Germany, Lindau is a town that sits not far from the Austrian border – and is home to an amazing language school.
A trip to Lake Constance gives you not only the opportunity to take intensive German classes, but also the chance to explore a truly spectacular location on the shoreline of the third-largest freshwater lake in central/west Europe. It also means you’re perfectly located for some European exploring, whether you choose to venture to nearby Austria, or head up into the mountains in the microstate of Liechtenstein.

Music Appreciation in Munich, Salzburg & Vienna
Germany’s position in central Europe and its great transport connections make it the ideal first stop on a multi-country tour. In addition, given central Europe’s influence on global musical development, it’s no surprise that it’s the best place to take budding music students.
Once you’ve finished exploring Munich, it’s an easy hop across the border to Austria to explore the beautiful city of Salzburg. The birthplace of Mozart and the location of The Sound of Music, it’s an iconic city that provides a rich window into the world of classical music. Then, when you’ve pulled your eyes away from the amazing architecture and picked your jaw off the floor, we’ll take you onto Vienna, the capital of Austria, where you can drop it afresh. There, students can learn about another stalwart of European musical history, Haydn, and try out their own timing in a Viennese waltz class.

World War II History in Berlin & Kraków
This reflective, impactful dual-city school trip offers a chance for history students to get to grips with one of the darkest periods in human history. In Berlin, they’ll learn about the history of the Third Reich and the decisions made by the Nazi Party on a political level. Then, in Kraków, they’ll discover the real-life impacts that these decisions had on millions of people.
While in Berlin, students will have the opportunity to see key spots like the German Parliament Building (previously the Reichstag) where the Nazis seized power in 1933. They’ll also visit the Topography of Terror Museum – this is on the site of the Gestapo Headquarters, and illustrates the history of persecution. Then, when they move onto Kraków, they’ll be able to visit Kazimierz (the Jewish Quarter) and Schindler’s enamel factory. Finally, their last day of the tour is a sobering excursion to Auschwitz-Birkenau.
