Sample Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Cairns & sunset cruise

  • Fly into Cairns airport and meet your TLA Adventure Leader who will be waiting for you. Make your way together to your private coach and transfer to your hotel to check in.
  • Hop on a private coach to Cairns Marina for your incredible Sunset Cruise. Discover an Indigenous Protected Area where ancient knowledge meets latest science to deliver world-first conservation programs. Cruise along an avenue of ancient mangrove forests.
  • Enjoy the ancient Mandingalbay custom of a Welcoming to the Country.
  • Cruise quietly through the beautiful mangrove lined waterways back into Cairns Harbour, enjoying the beauty of the city lights from the water.

Day 2: Fitzroy Island day trip

  • Depart Cairns marina at 0830 for the 45 minute Ferry trip to Fitzroy Island
  • Walk through the rainforest, visit Nudey beach (voted Australia’s best beach in 2018)
  • Visit th Turtle Rehab facility, a world class education centre to learn why Turtles are sent here and their 85% success rate
  • Return to Cairns at 5pm

Day 3: Mossman Gorge

  • Today you will get to full immerse yourself in an unparalleled rainforest experience!
  • Your day begins in Mossman Gorge with a traditional Kuku Yalanji smoking ceremony.
  • You will then gain a deeper understanding of this breathtaking rainforest on a 1.5-hour hike with your Aboriginal guide. 
  • Enjoy lunch before returning to Cairns mid afternoon

Day 4: Great Barrier Reef

  • No trip to Australia would be complete without visiting the Great Barrier Reef
  • Enjoy a day filled with snorkeling and (introductory) diving in the World Heritage Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Exploring the coral gardens in search of weird and wonderful marine life at Opal Reef and Agincourt Reef, they will keep you busy for hours.
  • Return to the Marina later this afternoon, just in time for a delicious local dinner.

Day 5: Cape Tribulation, Daintree River & ziplining

  • Embark on an exhilarating tour of the world’s oldest rainforest.
  • Cruise along the Daintree River and get an insight into the habitat of birds, tree snakes, unique plants and of course the estuarine crocodile. 
  • Enjoy a delicious tropical BBQ lunch in the rainforest at Heritage Lodge overlooking the crystal-clear waters of Cooper Creek.
  • Stroll along this world-famous rainforest beach (Cape Tribulation) and admire the coastline and coral reef from Kulki Lookout.
  • Discover the Alexandra Lookout. After winding through the rainforest of the Alexandra Range, enjoy these spectacular views over the Daintree River Estuary, Snapper Island and beyond to the Coral Sea
  • It’s time for some thrill, enjoy ziplining in the Tropical Rainforest. Zipline between the tropical trees up to 150 feet across the top of the tree canopy.

Day 6: Departure day

  • Fly from Cairns airport.

Day 7: Arrive back home

  • Return home after incredible experiences together.
